Our History

Silber & Associates has stood the test of time.

Paul G. Silber, Jr. started his own firm and became a consulting engineer in 1957. In 1970, he established Silber and Associates, who until recently, primarily focused on providing MEP engineering services for public schools in Texas.

During the 46 years of Silber’s existence, they have provided innovative engineering, state of the art designs, and continue to be involved in projects containing complex and sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems including energy management, flexible lighting control, telecommunications, and multimedia.

Who We Are

Your leading choice in MEP design

Silber & Associates currently houses a small staff, focused on working with large and small school districts in Central Texas. Silber’s resume includes MEP design services for more than 420 schools, including being the firm that brought air conditioning to 77 of San Antonio ISD’s schools in 1985.

Silber’s extensive history and resume has made them the choice by several clients to assist with the development of standardized MEP criteria and guide specifications. It’s this level of confidence and trust by current clients that sets the stage for growth into new markets.

Leadership Transition

There is a new President at Silber & Associates

After 47 years of client service, Silber & Associates is excited to announce the recent transition of ownership from Kenton Hammond to a new president, Travis McLeod.

Travis has been serving the AEC industry as a product and design consultant, having worked with MEP firms and owners for more than 25 years. His relationship with Silber began in 1999 and since then, Travis has worked closely with Kenton on a variety of projects.

When asked why he wanted to take on the role of president and owner of Silber, Travis responded with deep conviction that this is a great company with extremely talented people.

Our President’s Biography

More than 25 years of experience in the construction industry

As President of Silber & Associates, Travis is responsible for day-to-day operations for the firm, business development, recruiting, and overall people development.

Travis’ background as an MEP product and sales engineering consultant makes him a unique fit for a MEP firm president.

One conversation with him and you’ll understand, he’s a people person and he loves this industry. His passion for working with and developing people was a huge driver behind taking on the role as President, but his engineering education and love of building design is what his career has been built upon.

Travis is a Texas Tech graduate with more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry as a testing and balancing agent, sales engineer and mechanical consulting engineer. He has experience in health care design and laboratory design.
